The BioRadio for Research

The BioRadio provides a compact wireless solution for recording a variety of signals that is ideal for research labs. The flexible platform can be used in a wide range of environments and for multiple applications. Using the BioRadio software—BioCapture, BioRadio Lab Course, and BioRadio SDK—users can design a fully customized data processing environment, most ideal for specialized projects and research.

The BioRadio allows for a quick set up with no need for calibration. Its compact, wireless nature eliminates movement restrictions. Multi-channel wireless data acquisition allows users to record and monitor a wide range of signals and sensors. Acceptable input signals range from microvolts up to ±2 V. Passive and active, sensors and transducers, of many types are available including but not limited to

Piezo-electric
Resistive
Infrared
Conductive
Thermoelectric

The BioRadio Sensor Pod interface accessory outputs 5VDC.

The BioRadio Sensor Pod is an optional accessory that allow sensors, such as pressure transducers and thermistors to interface with the BioRadio. Additional Sensor Pods can be connected and “stacked” underneath one another, allowing multiple transducers to be used simultaneously.

Additional BioRadio hardware features include DC coupled inputs, include dedicated Ground and reference inputs, hardware event marker, 8 GB of internal storage, and a rechargeable lithium polymer battery.

BioCapture research software is a simple platform that provides users complete control over BioRadio hardware configuration, data display and data management. BioCapture features real-time capturing, reviewing and exporting of signal data.

BioCapture allows users to tune and program input ranges and resolutions and a global sampling rate. Configuration settings also include toggling electronic amplifiers—up to four differential or up to eight single-ended. Additional configuration features include signal preset, access to embedded motion sensor and the BioRadio Sensor Pod.

Users can view data in real-time, add event markers and apply custom filters. Data can be exported to ASCII format for further analysis in other software packages such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, and Microsoft Excel.

Software Development Kit (SDK)
Complimentary SDK includes real-time LabVIEW and MATLAB drivers, which allows flexibility in designing custom software around the BioRadio.
