Next webinar: Teaching and Applying EMG to Human Movement

by Marcelo Aller, CSCS, Global BioRadio Sales Manager

GLNT’s 2014 webinar series is designed to educate participants about the BioRadio wireless physiological monitoring system and to generate discussion about potential applications. We typically discuss a broad range of applications but our next webinar should be of particular interest to educators.

On Monday, March 3 at 1pm EST we’ll be talking about Teaching and Applying EMG to Human Movement. We’ll be joined on the webinar by two guest lecturers: Katie Sell, PhD, Assistant Professor and Jamie Ghigiarelli, PhD, Assistant Professor from the Department of Health Professions and Kinesiology at Hofstra University. Professors Sell and Ghigiarelli will discuss approaches for incorporating EMG analysis into undergraduate and graduate courses. They’ll show some sample lab assignments and discuss considerations for conducting EMG-based research.

The educators will focus on how to use technology to teach students to think critically when reviewing EMG signals to assess movement. Their insight should be helpful to other educators who are interested in using technology in their courses and will hopefully spur discussion of ideas of projects to assess EMG signals. Our webinars are highly interactive and participants have the opportunity to ask questions of the presenters so make certain you come prepared with questions for Drs. Sell and Ghigiarelli.
