Crains’ Jeff Stacklin speaks with CleveMed’s Bob Schmidt about RatPaak and other products in development at the Cleveland-based medical devices company.
The device, called the RatPaak, is a set of tiny saddlebags that are harnessed to laboratory animals that weight 100 grams or more. The RatPaak contains a miniature computer and a two-way transmitter that wirelessly sends brain, heart and muscle activity data to a nearby receiver attached to a larger computer that collects the information. … “What our device does is allow the animals to move around and behave a lot more naturally, ” Mr. Schmidt said.
